Students offer help to hurricane victims

The students of Glenwood Junior High and Center Intermediate schools were excited to do whatever they could to collect new school supplies for students in the small port town of Port Aransas, Texas. Port Aransas is on a barrier island near Corpus Christi. Town leaders reached out to Mahoning Valley humanitarian Kathy Price and the Mission of Love for aid following Hurricane Harvey in September. Price then reached out to the students in Boardman for help.

More than 100 new backpacks, boxes various school supplies were collected. These items will help kids who lost so much in the catastrophic flooding of Harvey. The supplies have been sent to the Mission of Love warehouse to be prepared to be shipped to students in need. Glenwood teacher, Eric Diefenderfer, thanks all students and staff who contributed. Mission of Love is based in Austintown and is a humanitarian relief organization dedicated to helping third world countries and victims of natural disasters through airlifts and truck transports of medical supplies, clothes, school supplies, and building materials.
