New Middletown man dies after wreck on Route 170

SPRINGFIELD

The Canfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol is investigating a crash about about 9:50 p.m. Tuesday on state Route 170 that killed a 37-year-old New Middletown man.

A news release from the post said Oliver C. Holley-Fry was driving north on state route 170 near Milepost 3 when his van went off the road, re-entered the roadway and collided with a utility pole.

Holley-Fry died from his injuries at St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital, the release said.

The release said alcohol is suspected as a factor in the crash. Holley-Fry was also not wearing a seat belt, the release said.
