BOARDMAN
The Salvation Army Women’s Auxiliary will host a fashion show and auction at 11 a.m., Saturday at the Holiday Inn Boardman.
Celebrity models for the event will include WFMJ-TV 21’s Jennifer Brindisi, Lauren Wood of WKBN and Christina Mullen of WYTV news, with Alex George of WKBN news as the Master of Ceremonies.
Tickets for the show are sold out, but tickets for other items, including the auction, will be available at the event. Proceeds will go toward the after-school program and renovation of the soup kitchen at the Salvation Army facility at 1501 Glenwood Ave. The kitchen serves more than 150 meals per day to the needy.
Fashions will be by 850 Blues, Chico’s and The Children’s Loft. Sponsors are as follows: Platinum, WKBN; Gold, Home Savings, Cumulus Radio and Tom and Pam Metzler; and Silver, Duncan Kitchen and Bath and City Machine Tech.
Several vendors also will be featured.
Betty McKendry is chairwoman of the event, and on the committee are Battye Pacella, Mary Lou Yaist, Barbara Hierro, Donna Bruno, Cee Varsho, Aggi Butler, Jeanette Hess, Judith Lobaugh, Suzan Masters and Sherry Walker.
