DRUG RETURNS | Where to drop off old prescription medications


The National Prescription Drug Take-Back Day aims to provide a safe, convenient and responsible means of disposing of old or unwanted prescription drugs, while also educating the general public about the potential for abuse of medications.

When: 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturday.

Where: Austintown Township Police Department, 92 Ohltown Road; Beaver Township Police Department, 601 W. South Range Road, North Lima; Canfield Police Department, 104 Lisbon St.; Mahoning County Sheriff’s Office, 110 Fifth Ave, Youngstown; New Middletown Police, 10711 Main St.; Springfield Township Police Department, 3475 E. South Range Road; YSU Police Department, 266 W. Wood St.; Milton Township Police District, 15992 Milton Ave., Lake Milton.

Miscellaneous: The public can drive up, drop off and drive out of the locations with no questions asked. The drive is for pharmaceutical drugs brought in plastic or glass bottles. If pills are being returned, they must be in sturdy plastic bags. No illicitly manufactured controlled substances such as heroin, LSD or marijuana, syringes or needles will be accepted.
