UPDATE | Driver charged with drunken-driving in Hubbard accident that released pigs


HUBBARD — The driver of a truck carrying 165 pigs that jackknifed early Wednesday on Interstate 80 east at the U.S. Route 62 ramp has been charged with operating a motor vehicle while under the influence of alcohol or drugs.

According to a news release from the Ohio State Highway Patrol’s Southington Post, the driver, Barry Kuhn, 31, of Tamaqua, Pa., struck a sign about 5:15 a.m. before overturning.

The patrol said it is not clear how many of the pigs may have been injured or killed in the crash.

Kuhn also faces charges of failure to control and not wearing a seat belt.
