City police arrested three people over the weekend on felony drug charges.

On Saturday Scott Bellstrom, 53, of Struthers, was pulled over at South and Judson avenues for an improper turn, reports said, and when officers walked up to the car, they saw him take a piece of paper out of his mouth and throw it on the floor of the car.

Reports said Bellstrom at first told police there was nothing in his mouth, then he told them it was crack cocaine.

Police found a rock of suspected crack cocaine inside a chewed up piece of paper and took Bellstrom to the Mahoning County jail on a charge of possession of crack cocaine.

About 5:40 p.m. Saturday police pulled over a car at Hilton and LaClede avenues driven by Damion King, 36, of Youngs-town, for running a stop sign.

Reports said a police dog detected drugs in the car and when police searched it, they found a bag inside that contained suspected crack cocaine and $308 cash.

Reports said King told police he was not a bad person but had bills to pay and needed extra cash to pay child support.

He also was taken to the jail on a charge of possession of crack cocaine.

About 3:45 p.m. Friday, police spotted a man they knew had a suspended license, Stacey E. Rice, 26, of Breaden Avenue, driving a car and went to pull him over.

Reports said Rice pulled into a drive in the 400 block of Garfield Avenue. When police searched the car before it was towed they found a bag of suspected heroin, reports said.

Rice was taken to the jail on a charge of possession of heroin.
