ASSOCIATIONS

Guilford Civic Association will meet at 7 p.m. Thursday at Guilford Ruritan Hall, Route 172. County Engineer Burt Dawson will discuss county projects. Flag payments should be made of $25 payable to Guilford Civic Association, Rilla Gill, 33343 Baker Road, Lisbon, OH 44432. This will be the last meeting this year.

CLUBS

Trumbull County League of Women Voters will have a fall brunch at 10 a.m. Saturday at Warren Women’s Club, 708 N. Park Ave. The program will discuss the meaning of non-partisan and how members should use it. Training in how a political forum is set up and the tools and equipment needed to present one according to LWVTC by-laws will be demonstrated. Guests and potential members are welcome. GUILDS

Embroiderers Guild of America, Youngstown Area Chapter, will meet Tuesday at the IOOF Hall, 111 S. Broad St., Canfield. The morning session is at 10 a.m. and the evening session at 7:30 p.m. Both will be followed by the educational needlework program “Boutis French Quilting—Cicada.” Guest stitchers are welcome. LIBRARY FRIENDS

Austintown Library Friends, Raccoon Road, will meet at 10 a.m. Monday in the large meeting room of the library. Ben Melnykovich will present a program on what can be done to prevent falls. The meeting is open to the public.

Poland Library Friends will meet at 10 a m. Oct. 4. Kim Kenny will present “Sweet Stuff,” the story of chocolate. A business meeting and potluck luncheon will follow. Members are asked to take a salad, fruit dish or casserole with a spoon. Officers will provide dessert. There will not be refreshments before the meeting. The public is invited to attend and to stay for lunch. Donations of books, magazines, CDs, and DVDs for the book cart are welcome. Annual dues are $10 and new members are welcome.

RELIGIOUS GROUPS

St. Rose Quilting Group will meet at 10 a.m. Wednesday in the parish house.

Youngstown South Christian Women’s Connection will host a luncheon from 11:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Oct. 12 at Avion on the Water Banquet Center, 2177 W. Western Reserve Road, Canfield. Featured will be fashions by Chico’s, music by Steve Varga, and Susan Ely of Raliegh, N.C., will discuss “Leaving the Safety and Security of your Shell.” The cost is $13.50 and includes lunch. D.A.R.E. meets at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Disciples Christian Church, 565 Boardman-Canfield Road. Audubon Society Mahoning Valley invites the public to “Eastern Bluebirds and House Sparrows,” by Stacy Pavlik, a teacher at Austintown Fitch. It will take place Tuesday at the Canfield Library, 43 W. SUPPORT GROUPS

Alzheimer Network Family Support Groups will meet at 1:30 p.m. Monday at Easter Seals Adult Day Center, 721 Boardman-Poland Road, Boardman; and 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at Emmanuel Lutheran Education Building, 251 S.
