Canfield Committee will host book sale on Oct. 1 at the library

« Canfield Neighbors

The Canfield Committee will host its annual book sale on Oct. 1 from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. at the Canfield library.

Hardcover books, paperbacks and magazines will be offered at $1 or less. Book selections are available for all ages, children to adult. Proceeds of the sale are used to benefit the Canfield library.

The public is invited to donate books for the sale and to bring them Oct. 1 from 8-9 a.m. prior to the sale. Gently used, clean, current books are appreciated; no encyclopedias, textbooks, technical manuals or medical books can be accepted. Donated books may only be dropped off early the day of the sale, as the library cannot store donations.

The Friends of the Library - Canfield Committee will also sell 8 ounce bags of gourmet, roast-to-order coffee. It is made fresh from organic, fair trade Arabica beans from Central America at Stone Fruit Coffee Company in Boardman. The signature brew is specially blended and medium roasted to produce a smooth finish. Buy on Saturday or order for holiday gift giving. Half of the $10 purchase price is a donation to the Friends Canfield Committee to benefit the library.

The Friends of the Library- Canfield Committee advocates for the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County (PLYMC), and supports library programs and services in the community. It is a committee of the Friends of PLYMC, a county wide non-profit organization. New members are welcome.

The Canfield Committee meets on the second Wednesday of each month at 6:30 p.m. in the Canfield library.
