Crash closes I-80

HUBBARD

The Ohio State Highway Patrol reported late Saturday that Interstate 80 westbound in Trumbull County to the Pennsylvania state line was closed because of a crash.

There was no report available as to injuries by press time.

An OSHP dispatcher said troopers were on the scene and emergency vehicles had been sent. Hubbard police and firefighters also were on the scene.

The Ohio Department of Transportation reported at 10 p.m. that a section of I-80 was closed pending a cleanup of the scene.

ODOT issued a caution for motorists to avoid the area.

Car show, levy rally

The Mahoning County Board of Developmental Disabilities will conduct its hot rod and classic car show and levy campaign kickoff rally from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at its Bev Road MASCO workshop, 825 Bev Road.

The event will feature a delicious dessert contest, car judging, live music from Brett Allen Morgan, dancing, face-painting, picnic food, games and giveaways.

All charitable contributions will benefit the Animal Charity humane society.

The DD board has a 2-mill, five-year, real-estate tax renewal levy on the Nov. 8 ballot, which is designated as Issue One.

PFLAG political forum

YOUNGSTOWN

Youngstown Area Parents, Friends, Lesbians And Gays is sponsoring a political forum at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave.

PFLAG is an organization that gives support, educates and advocates for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender community.

Representatives of all political parties are slated to speak. The focus will be on their LGBT platform positions. A question-and-answer period will follow.
