The Mahoning County coroner is investigating the deaths of Bianca Arter, 49, and her son, Javier, 17, as a murder-suicide.
The bodies of Arter and Javier were found in their home in the 2100 block of Volney Road on Saturday about 4:30 p.m.
A neighbor said she saw the teen take out the trash Thursday and saw his mother the same day, according to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.
Another neighbor told The Vindicator that the mother and son rarely came out of the house. Arter told the neighbor that Javier was being home-schooled.
Police have not released the causes of the deaths. Authorities would not say who committed the homicide before committing suicide, 21-WFMJ-TV reported.
