Miami 18, Kent State 14

Gus Ragland connected with Kenny Young for a 55-yard touchdown pass and Deondre Daniels got a key interception four plays later to lift Miami to its first win. Trailing most of the game, the Redhawks (1-6, 1-2 Mid-American) took their first lead when Young hauled in Ragland’s pass around midfield, then eluded two tackles while sprinting down the right sideline for the winning score with 1:34 left. Daniels sealed the win 14 seconds later with an interception to end Kent State’s final drive. Ragland finished with 181 yards passing and also had a 15-yard touchdown throw to Alonzo Smith in the third quarter. Nick Dowd had a 38-yard field goal and the Redhawks also got a safety. Kent State (2-5, 1-2) got two touchdown runs from Nick Holley, who finished 7 of 11 for 91 yards passing and added 84 yards rushing.

AKRON
Jarvion Franklin rushed for a school-record 281 yards and Zach Terrell threw for two scores and ran for two more as Western Michigan — ranked in the Top 25 for the first time in school history — shut out Akron. Wide receiver Corey Davis caught two touchdown passes to add to his career school record, finishing with eight catches for 63 yards. The Broncos amassed 585 yards of offense in a victory that capped one of the biggest weeks in the 100-year history of the program. Western Michigan (7-0, 2-0 MAC) held Akron to 283 yards of offense and snuffed out their biggest threat in the second quarter when quarterback Tra’Von Chapman was intercepted by Broncos linebacker Casey Carson at the WMU 3-yard line.
Eastern Michigan 27, Ohio 20
ATHENS
Brogan Roback threw for a career-high 347 yards and three touchdowns to lead Eastern Michigan. Two of the touchdowns were big-time receptions in the fourth quarter that allowed the Eagles (5-2, 2-1) to beat the Bobcats (4-3, 2-1) for the first time since 1999, and the first time on the road since 1994. EMU has won three straight on the road for the first time since 1967.
Toledo 42, Bowling Green 35
TOLEDO
Kareem Hunt scored from the 3 with 18 seconds left to play as Toledo snapped a late tie. The win lifts the Rockets to 5-1, 2-0 MAC as the teams packed 42 points into the game’s final 15:02. Hunt gained 99 yards on 25 carries. Bowling Green (1-6, 0-3) scored consecutive touchdowns in the waning minutes to tie, 35-35 when James Morgan found Marquis Zimmerman from the 20 and then Teo Redding from the 18.

Cooper Rush connected with Tyler Conklin for a 25-yard touchdown pass on the first play of triple overtime.
Ball State 31, Buffalo 21
BUFFALO, N.Y.
James Gilbert ran for 264 yards and two touchdowns, including a tie-breaking 80-yarder. Tyree Jackson was 28 of 46 for 306 yards, all career-highs.
