Indiana mother pleads not guilty in kids’ fatal stabbing

CRAWFORDSVILLE, Ind.

A central Indiana woman who admitted fatally stabbing her young son and daughter has pleaded not guilty to murder charges.

Thirty-year-old Brandi Worley of Darlington entered the plea Tuesday via video from Montgomery County Jail, where she was transferred to Monday after being released from a hospital. Worley was hospitalized and treated for self-inflicted stab wounds to the neck after the Nov. 17 attack that left her children, 7-year-old Tyler and 3-year-old Charlee, dead.

Court documents say Worley told police officers she used a combat knife to kill the children and stab herself because she didn’t want her husband to take the children from her. Her husband, Jason Worley, had filed for divorce.

Jason Worley told officers he was asleep downstairs when his wife attacked their children.

Airline loses dog, launches campaign

MEXICO CITY

Mexican airline Interjet has launched a campaign dubbed #BuscandoMika (FindMika) after an 8-year-old mixed-breed female dog apparently escaped her cage and got lost at Mexico City’s airport.

The airline has posted photos of the search effort and flyers with a picture of the dog, a pink neckerchief around her neck. The flyer offers a $250 reward.

Airline traveler Pamela Alvarez has put appeals on social media sites saying the airline didn’t inform her until she got to Houston that the dog escaped when the cage fell.

Interjet says in a statement that it understands pets are important to their owners. It adds: “Up to now we haven’t been able to find Mika, but we will continue to search with all means at our disposal.”
