Argus Lodge honors Russell W. Gillam Jr.

SPECIAL TO THE VINDICATOR Members of the 24th Masonic District recently presented a portrait of Russell W. Gillam Jr. of Canfield to the Argus Masonic Lodge of Canfield. Gillam has served the Grand Lodge of Ohio as a district deputy grand master for three years. His appointments were made at Grand Lodge sessions in Akron, Cincinnati and Columbus, and he is the third member in the 130-year history of the lodge to attain this honor. Gillam has presided over the Youngstown Chapter of Royal Arch Masons, Buechner Council Royal and Select Masons and St. John’s Commandery Knights Templar in the York Rite. He has served as worshipful master in 1979 and 2013, and as thrice potent master and most wise master in the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry. He has been awarded for meritorious service in the Ohio Council of Deliberation of the Scottish Rite and received the York Cross of Honour in the York Rite. His other affiliations include the Shannon Council of Knight Masons of Ireland, the Miriam Chapter of the Order of the Eastern Star and Aut Mori Grotto.
