Turning Point Residential Inc. is looking for qualified applicants for part-time work.

The jobs available are for direct care staff, who provide personal care and support services to individuals with disabilities in all of the residential locations on a regular schedule, unless notified of changes in advance.

Career exploration

YOUNGSTOWN

The YWCA of Youngstown will have a “Career Exploration in the Construction Industry” series starting Tuesday.

The eight-week series takes place from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday through Thursday at 1309-1317 Kensington Ave.

Participants will gain a working knowledge of how to complete a residential construction project. They will be provided with personal protective equipment and shoes, as well as a stipend upon completion of the entire eight-week program.

The event is open to women age 18 and over.

Toys for Tots toy drive

SALEM

On Monday, the Chevy All-Stars and The Stadium GM Superstore, 292 W. State St., will kick off their Annual Toys for Tots Marathon Toy Drive that will run through Dec. 23.

Last year the goal was to receive 500 toys and it was reached in only four days. This year, the goal is to receive 1,000 toys.

Santa will deliver the first batch of toys to Stadium at 4 p.m. Monday. Children will have a chance to meet and talk to Santa at that time. Football fans can meet former Cleveland Brown NFL player Don Cockroft, who will be at the event from 4 to 6 p.m.

Shorty Navarro, owner of Stadium GM, who was a Marine, will help Marines start the toy drive at the dealership.

New unwrapped toys can be donated at The Stadium GM Superstore from 10 a.m.-8 p.m. Mondays and Thursdays; from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays; and from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Saturdays.

The Manufacturing Advocacy and Growth Network will have a “Structuring Value to Grow Your Company” seminar from 8 a.m. to noon Jan. 24.

The event is for manufacturers only. Service providers and nonmanufacturers are prohibited from attending this event.

Topics of the event include: assessing the current state of your business; cash flow, operations, accounting and revenue; and monitoring strategic elements and closing the gap.

The event will take place at Holiday Inn, 6001 Rockside Road.
