GIRARD

A federal grand jury handed up a five-count indictment against a 40-year-old Akron man accused of taking nude photographs and having sex with a 14-year-old girl.

According to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner, Benny Hunt, 40, of Merriman Road, Akron, met the teen through her mother, whom he had befriended at an Austintown convenience store where he was a regular customer.

The affidavit says Hunt and the girl had sexual relations in a car at Tod Park and at the Motel Six in Liberty on several occasions beginning in June.

The Trumbull County grand jury had already indicted Hunt on four counts of unlawful sexual contact with a minor and importuning when he was arrested earlier this month.

Trumbull County dropped its case now that federal authorities are pursuing the matter.

Hunt is charged with one count of enticement, one count of distributing visual depictions of minors engaged in sexually explicit conduct and three counts of sexual exploitation of a child.
