GM has $14.5 billion in revolving credit

DETROIT

General Motors Co. announced the execution of an unsecured $14.5 billion revolving-credit facility, or line of credit, consisting of a $10.5 billion five-year facility and a $4 billion three-year facility. The facility amends and extends GM’s existing $12.5 billion revolving-credit facility.

The company reaffirmed its capital-allocation framework, including targets for cash of $20 billion and available liquidity of $30 billion to $35 billion needed to withstand a severe economic downturn. In addition, buybacks executed under the company’s common stock share repurchase program will continue to be funded with available free-cash-flow.

With the revolving-credit facility, the borrower may repay over time, or in full at any time.

$3 million Gerber judgment upheld

LITTLE ROCK, Ark.

A sharply divided Arkansas Supreme Court on Thursday said a baby-food manufacturer must pay more than $3 million to workers for the time they spent dressing and undressing into uniforms and protective gear.

In a 4-3 ruling, the high court upheld a lower court’s ruling that Gerber Products Co. should have compensated more than 800 workers at its Fort Smith facility for the time they spent changing into uniforms, donning protective gear such as ear plugs and washing their hands, as well as undressing after their shifts ended.
