Road and bridge closings abound

The Ohio Department of Transportation has announced more Mahoning Valley road and bridge closings in the coming days and weeks.

Beginning Monday, state Route 165 between Sharrott and Blosser roads in Beaver Township will be closed through Thursday, for a culvert replacement.

The detour will be over state Routes 165, 14 and 164.

Beginning May 31, Route 165 between state Routes 626 and 7 in Beaver Township will be closed through June 14, for a culvert replacement. The detour will be over state Routes 7, 164 and 626.

Beginning June 1, at a major truck-stop interchange, the entrance ramp from Salt Springs Road to Interstate 80 eastbound in Weathersfield Township will be closed through early July for roadway construction.

The detour will be Interstate 80 westbound to state Route 46 to Interstate 80 eastbound.

Beginning this evening, Interstate 80 eastbound and westbound in Girard and Liberty between U.S. Route 422 and state Route 193 (Belmont Avenue) will have various nightly lane restrictions between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. for roadway construction until further notice.

Beginning Thursday, at 11 p.m., Tibbetts-Wick Road over state Route 11 in Liberty will be closed through 5 a.m. Friday, for a bridge-deck pour.

The eastbound detour will be state Route 11 south to Interstate 80 east to state Route 193 to Interstate 80 west to state Route 11 north. The detour westbound will be Route 11 north to state Route 82 to Route 11 south.

Beginning June 1, Nelson-Moser Road just east of Allen-Smith Road in Warren Township will be closed through early November for the $1.1 million replacement of the 62-year-old, structurally-deficit steel-truss Nelson-Moser Road bridge over the Mahoning River.

The detour will be Braceville-Robinson Drive to state Route 82 to Diehl-South Road to Park Road.

Beginning June 1, state Route 5 between state Routes 82 and 46 will have various nightly lane restrictions for resurfacing between 7 p.m. and 6 a.m. in Cortland and Bazetta until further notice.
