Large crowd at tonight's Mill Creek MetroParks meeting

Monday, May 16, 2016

CANFIELD — The monthly Mill Creek MetroParks board meeting tonight again has drawn a large crowd, though noticeably smaller than the previous two, with several dozen people in attendance.

Board meetings have drawn a large audience since February, when MetroParks leaders implemented a staff restructuring that cut the positions of 13 park employees.

The board tonight will resolve one issue that upset some community members. Ray Novotny, the park system's former outdoor education manager Ray Novotny, who is at the meeting, will be awarded the honorary title of Mill Creek MetroParks naturalist emeritus.
