SEBRING

Two former Ohio Environmental Protection Agency employees fired over their handling of the Sebring Village water situation, Ken Baughman and his supervisor, Julie Spangler, have appealed their terminations.

Spangler filed an appeal with the state, and Baughman is represented by the Ohio Civil Service Employees Association, according to 21 WFMJ-TV, The Vindicator’s broadcast partner.

The EPA alleged Baughman did not ensure that the agency’s field office received test results in a timely manner. The delay in notifying the public about the risk spurred an investigation that resulted in the firings of Baughman and Spangler.
