Visiting Fellows Riverside Gardens in Mill Creek MetroParks on Easter remains a tradition for many Valley residents who were out Sunday enjoying temperatures in the 70s, sunny skies and a glimpse of spring while strolling through the 12-acre display garden in Youngstown.

A common theme among many young parents bringing their children to the gardens is that they remember visiting there as children and want to share that tradition with their children. Richard and Carrie Stuntz of Austintown who placed bunny ears on their children, Oliver, 3 months; and Magnolia, 4, while snapping photos of them against a background of daffodils were one such couple.

Carrie Stuntz fondly recalls visiting the gardens as a youngster and hopes her children will do likewise. In fact, one tree in Fellows Riverside Gardens impressed her to the point that she named her daughter Magnolia after that tree. “That’s my favorite tree” she said.

Amber Grabe of Youngstown, who was busy chasing her 4-year-old daughter, Amoree, around the large open areas of the gardens, said, “I’ve lived in Youngstown for 15 years, and this is my first visit here, but it won’t be my last.”
