Samantha Cox’s transitional kindergarten class at Poland North Preschool participated in their first Olympics event on Feb. 26.

The students had their own wreath crowns made out of paper plates and leaves to wear while they participated in different events.

The first event was a cotton ball race, followed by a water balloon toss, a bean bag toss, a cone race and finally a bear crawl and crab walk race.

The children had to take turns during each event because not all members of the Olympics compete at once. While some students participated, the others were in the audience cheering their classmates on. Some of the events were partner events and others were individual activities.

After several rounds of each event, the students made their way back to the classroom for their prizes.

All of the students received a medal for the participation in the first ever classroom Olympics. The students were happy to put the gold medals around their necks, showing off how well they did during the classroom Olympics.
