New poll shows Kasich topping Clinton or Sanders in November

COLUMBUS — Gov. John Kasich still performs better than other Republicans against former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton and Vermont Sen. Bernie Sanders in potential general election match-ups, according to a new poll released today.

But Kasich remains well behind Republican front-runner Donald Trump and Texas Sen. Ted Cruz for the GOP nomination for president, the Quinnipiac University Polling Institute found.

Kasich received support from only 16 percent of those polled, compared to 43 percent for Trump and 29 percent for Cruz.
