Riots at the Republican convention?

I agree with Donald Trump that Republican honchos shouldn’t try to steal the nomination away from him at the convention.

If he’s got the most votes, he wins. That’s democracy, even if it’s ugly. The GOP gave birth to him; they have to live with him.

But here he is again, promoting violence.

His rhetoric essentially has encouraged supporters to do whatever they want to protesters at his rallies. If some people got beat up, if some reporters got roughed up – hey, who cares? To Trump, all reporters and protesters are scum.

And now, he’s basically predicting violence at the convention if the GOP tries to block him. And you better believe he’s putting an idea into the heads of many of his supporters – particularly the “less educated ones” that Trump says he loves.

Millions of supporters

“I think you’d have riots,” Trump said of the possibility of the GOP taking the nomination from him. “I think you’d have riots. I’m representing a tremendous group – many, many millions of people.”

In other words, let’s incite those less-than-MENSA types months before the convention. Get ’em ready, just in case.

Hey, they listen to anything this man says, anyway. They believe everything he says, even if most of it is dreck.

He tells them to riot; you just might see riots.

And Trump gets what he wants, doesn’t he? He didn’t want to debate Monday, so FOX called off the entire debate.

If Trump wins the nomination fair and square, give it to him. If he brings down the rest of the Republican Party with him, that’s their problem.

But Trump will be to blame if there is violence at the convention. He’s the one inciting it.
