YOUNGSTOWN
Ambassadors for Christ, an organization of churches on the city’s East Side, will gather at noon Good Friday at We Walk by Faith Bible Church, 1636 Himrod Avenue, for the 15th annual walk with the cross.
All are welcome to participate.
After a gathering prayer, participants walk with a large wooden cross with each person being given the opportunity to carry the cross.
Walking along in song, the group will periodically stop at various street corners along the way for prayer and reflections as the Stations of the Cross are read by one of the pastors.
The journey in Youngstown begins at We Walk by Faith Bible Church and follows Oak Street toward downtown. It continues left onto Wick Avenue, left at the courthouse on Commerce Street, left onto East Federal Street and then over the bridge to Wilson Avenue, concluding at Holy Apostles/St. Stephen of Hungary Catholic Church.
Transportation will be provided back to the starting point.
Ambassadors for Christ was organized in 2000. Member churches are Mount Sinai Missionary Baptist Church, Mount Zion Baptist Church, St. James Church of God in Christ, Holy Apostles/St. Stephen of Hungary Catholic Church and We Walk by Faith Bible Church.
