TODAY

Boar’s Head Group of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will serve a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. The meal includes mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, bread and butter, pie and a beverage. For Lent, lemon-butter baked fish and macaroni and cheese will be served with green beans, salad, bread and butter, and pie. The cost is $8. No reservations are necessary. Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 420 Clearmount Drive, Youngstown, will provide a lunch of ham and bean soup, bread, beverage and dessert at 1 p.m., following Wednesday services. Austintown Grace Lutheran Church, 162 S. Raccoon Road, will host a drive-through stuffed chicken breast dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. Cost is $7 and includes mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie. Pepperoni rolls are available for $2. To order call 330-792-5889. There is no need to get out of your car; drive to the back of the church, and your order will be brought to you.

Bethel Lutheran Church, 425 Crestview Drive, Boardman, will host a drive-through Italian sausage and penne marinara dinner from 2:30 p.m. until sold out. Menu also includes garlic bread and antipasto salad. A children’s menu is available. Cost is $8 for adults and $3 for children. Credit cards will be accepted.

Calvary United Methodist Church, 12062 South Ave. Ext., North Lima, will have its monthly drive-through stuffed chicken breast dinner from 3 to 6 p.m. or until sold out. The dinner includes potatoes and gravy, green beans and a brownie for $7 per dinner. Drive up to the door; someone will take the dinners to your car. Call 330-549-2588 to reserve your dinners. Leave your name, phone number, the number of dinners you want and approximate time you will arrive. A percentage of the profits is used for local mission projects.

VFW Col. Louis J. Campbell Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals include meatballs, salad, bread and butter, and coffee. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $7.50 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

VFW Triangle Post 2799, 3161 E. South Range Road, New Springfield, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. sponsored by the auxiliary. Prices are $7 for adults and $3.50 for children under 12. Meals include meatballs, salad, Italian bread and coffee or tea.

FRIDAY

American Legion Post 737, 16465 Milton Ave., Lake Milton, will sponsor a fish fry from 3 to 7 p.m. each Friday through March 25. Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, 2759 North Lipkey Road, North Jackson, will serve fish dinners from 3 to 7 p.m. each Friday of Lent, excluding Good Friday. Meal comprises baked or fried fish or 21 shrimp and haluski, homemade soup, coleslaw, bread and butter, dessert and beverage. Cost is $12 for adults and $6 for children. Carryouts are available. Canfield Lions Club will have a fish fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Meals consist of a choice of baked or fried fish; french fries, macaroni and cheese, pirogi or haluski; and coleslaw, green beans, roll, dessert and beverage. The cost is $11. Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. First Presbyterian Church, 3654 Main St., Mineral Ridge, will serve fish dinners from 5 to 7 p.m. Fridays during Lent. Meal includes fried or baked haddock, green beans, french fries or haluski or macaroni and cheese (options vary by week). Cost is $9 for adults, $4 for children 4 to 12 and free for those 3 and under.

Girard K. of C. Council 2935, 122 S. State St, Girard, will host a Lenten fish dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Cost is $9 for adults, $4.50 for children 4 to 12 and free for kids 3 and under. Menu comprises baked or fried fish, fries, macaroni and cheese or haluski, coleslaw, bread, coffee and cake. Pop and water are 50 cents. Carryout is available. Call 330-545-3432.

Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi. The cost is $5.50 a dozen. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., will take orders for freshly made each week potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. No containers are necessary. Orders should be placed from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown, will serve Lenten fish dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. every Friday through March 18. Menu includes fried or baked haddock or shrimp, coleslaw or applesauce, dessert, bread and butter, beverages and a choice of two sides. There is also a complimentary pasta and pizza table with the purchase of a dinner. Cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children.

Negley Masonic Lodge, 50873 Richardson Ave., will host a fish fry from 4 to 7 p.m. Menu comprises baked or fried fish, french fries, coleslaw, rolls and dessert. St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $6.50 per dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins welcome. Use the side entrance.

St. Brendan Parish, 144 N. Schenley Ave., Youngstown, will serve sit-down or takeout fish dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. in Maxwell Hall. There will be a choice of beer batter, fried, baked or cajun-style fish, with a choice of haluski, french fries, macaroni and cheese or parsley potatoes; coleslaw or applesauce; and bread and butter, cake and coffee. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Luncheon specials from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. are takeout only and include a sandwich and side for $6 or an entire dinner for $10. St. Maron Parish, 1555 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown, will host Lenten fish fries from 3 to 7 p.m. through March 18. Cost of $10 will buy a fried or baked haddock, fried shrimp or fried clam dinner, with coleslaw, bread and butter, and choice of a side from macaroni and cheese, majadra (lentils with rice and caramelized onions), fries or potato pirogi, dessert and coffee or tea. St. Michael Family Life Center, 340 N. Broad St., Canfield, will offer dine-in or carryout fish dinners from 4 to 8 p.m. every Friday during Lent, excluding Good Friday. Cost is $12 for adults and $10 senior portions for ages 60 and older. Meal includes fried or baked haddock or fried shrimp, and the choice of two sides from fries, haluski, green beans and pirogi. St. Patrick Church, 367 N. Main St., Hubbard, will host Lenten fish fry dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. each Friday through March 18 in the church hall. Menu includes baked or fried haddock with a choice of side from pirogi, haluski, macaroni and cheese, fries or ravioli, or Italian haddock with a choice of pasta or ravioli. Each meal will also include a choice of coleslaw or applesauce, bread and butter, drink and dessert. Adult dinners are $9 and meals for children are $7. St. Paul the Apostle Church, 10143 Main St., New Middletown, will sell potato, sweet cabbage and cottage cheese pirogi for $5.50 a dozen. Orders can be called to 330-542-3525 from 7 to 11 a.m. Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. Friday. Walk-ins are welcome.

St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, sells potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi on Fridays. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $6.50 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.

St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4453 Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna, will serve a Lenten fish dinner from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Takeout meals will be available starting at 3 p.m. The meals will include baked or fried white fish, parsley potatoes, pirogi, coleslaw, applesauce, bread, beverage and dessert. St. Vincent de Paul Parish, 1 Lucymont Drive, New Castle, Pa., will have Lenten fish fries, eat in or takeout, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays, except for Good Friday, in the parish hall. A baked or fried fish sandwich with one side is $9, baked or fried fish dinner with two sides is $10, a shrimp basket with two sides is $10 and a child’s dinner with one side is $5. The fish dinners and shrimp basket meals also include Italian bread and an ice cream cup. Side choices are waffle fries, macaroni and cheese, cabbage and noodles, coleslaw and green beans. Meal comprises baked Italian or fried fish, a choice of side from macaroni and cheese, haluski or pirogi, and coleslaw or applesauce and bread and butter. No beverages are available. Cost is $10 for adults and $6 for children under 10.

SATURDAY

Caring Hands will receive proceeds from a cream chicken dinner planned from 4 to 7 p.m. at the Negley Volunteer Fire Department, 50683 Richardson St. Tickets are $8 for adults, $4 for children 4 to 10 and free for those 3 and younger. The menu will include mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, coleslaw and cherry crisp. There will be a 50-50 and basket raffle.

Cortland United Methodist Church, 155 N. High St., will have a corned beef and roast beef dinner from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. Meals are $9 and include cabbage, potatoes, green beans, dessert and beverage. Carryout is also available. For information call 330-637-2571.

Fowler United Methodist Church, 3426 Youngstown-Kingsville Road, will sponsor a chicken pie dinner from 3:30 to 6 p.m. The menu will include potato, green beans, applesauce, coleslaw, bread, dessert and beverage. Cost is $9 for adults and $4 for children 6 to 12. Meals are free for preschoolers, and takeouts will be available.

New Wilmington Kiwanis Club will host an all-you-can-you-eat pancake and sausage meal from 7:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. in Galbreath Hall dining room at Westminster College, 319 S. Market St., New Wilmington, Pa. Proceeds will benefit the New Wilmington Fire Department. Tickets are available from Kiwanis members or at the door for $7 for adults and $3 for children under 12.

Smith Corners United Methodist Church, 3000 S. Canfield-Niles Road, Austintown, will serve a free pancake, sausage and egg breakfast from 9 to 11 a.m. Donations will be accepted, and proceeds will go to World Service projects.

SUNDAY

Jackson Township Fire Department and Auxiliary will host a pancake and sausage breakfast from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Jackson Township Administration Building, 10613 Mahoning Ave., North Jackson. Coffee, milk and juice also will be served. Cost is $6 for adults, $3 for children 5 to 12, and free for kids 4 and younger. Takeouts are available. The event will include a 50-50 and basket auction, and the group will collect items for the infant and toddlers wish list at Akron Children’s Hospital. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, will have a stuffed cabbage sale and dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Cost is $10 for adults and $4 for children for a menu of cabbage rolls, vegetable, potato or haluski, and roll and butter. A dozen stuffed cabbage will be sold for $16, and haluski by the quart is $5. Takeout is available.

Our Lady of Mount Carmel Basilica, 343 Via Mount Carmel, Youngstown, will sponsor a spaghetti dinner from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the church hall. Prices are $7.50 for adults and $5 for children. All carryouts are $7.50; containers are 75 cents or you can provide your own.

TUESDAY

Coalburg United Methodist Church, 1906 Wick-Campbell Road, Hubbard, will offer a Swiss steak dinner from 4 to 7 p.m. Meal comprises mashed potatoes, vegetable, coleslaw, bread and beverage for $9 for adults and $5 for children. There will also be a bake sale. Dine in or carry out.

TAKING ORDERS

Campbell “O” Club of St. John the Baptist Orthodox Church, 301 Struthers-Liberty Road, is taking orders for kolachi and paska bread through March 18. Kolachi types include apricot, cheese, levkar, nut and poppyseed for $11 each and paska bread flavors include plain, raisin or cheese for $7 each. Pickup is from noon to 4 p.m. March 25. First Presbyterian Church of Girard, 890 Church Hill Road, will be selling 15-inch pepperoni rolls for $8, chicken noodle and potato soups for $5 a quart or $3 a pint, fresh bread for $2 for a large loaf and $1.50 for a small loaf, and four sticky buns for $2.50. Simon Road Church of God, 4750 Simon Road, Boardman, is taking orders for Easter kolachi through Sunday at 330-758-5108, 330-757-2470 or 330-758-7447. Nut, prune, apricot and poppy seed varieties are available for $9 each. Quarter-pound homemade peanut butter eggs also will be sold for $2.25 each. The kolachi will be baked and available for pickup from 3 to 5 p.m. March 17.

UPCOMING

St. Nicholas School, 762 Fifth St., Struthers, will sell takeout-only pasta fagioli and haluski in the great hall from noon to 5 p.m. March 25, or until sold out. Pasta fagioli will be $5.50 per quart and haluski with homemade spaetzle is $8 per quart. There is no need to leave your car; pull up to the awning at the hall, and your meal will be taken to you. Advance orders are encouraged at 330-719-4998, but not required. Proceeds will defray the cost of the seventh- and eighth-grade trip to Chicago.
