Tickets on sale for downtown concerts


YOUNGSTOWN — Tickets are on sale for two downtown concerts that will are associated with the Summer Festival of the Arts at Youngstown State University.

Pittsburgh rock band the Clarks will perform July 8 (gates open at 7 p.m.), and jazz artist Marion Meadows will headline a show July 9 (gates open at 6:30 p.m.

Both concerts will be outdoors on Central Square, and will be held rain or shine.

Tickets are $10 for both shows and are available in advance at the Covelli Centre box office. Tickets will also be sold at the gate before each event.

The Summer Festival of the Arts takes place from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. July 8, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. July 9 on the campus of Youngstown State University.

The St. Nicholas Geek Orthodox Church summer festival also will take place July 7-10 on the church grounds, near YSU, at 220 N. Walnut St.

And there will be a gospel music concert featuring Fred Hammond on Central Square, downtown, on July 10. Gates open at 1 p.m. Tickets are $20, $45 and $65 and can be purchased in advance at www.2deepevents.com or by phone at 330-953-3340. Tickets will also be sold at the gate.
