New hire at Penn State Shenango

SHARON, PA.

Allison M. Engstrom of Boardman has been hired as Penn State Shenango’s new director of development and alumni relations. She began her duties last week.

Engstrom comes to the Shenango campus from Akron Children’s Hospital Mahoning Valley, where she had the position of development coordinator for special events and annual fund.

She earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration from Penn State Smeal College of Business, where she majored in marketing with a focus in management.

Her husband, Adam, also is a Penn State graduate.

Grieving program

The public is invited to join A Time For Recovery Outreach to better understand the grieving process at 2 p.m. Saturday at the Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County’s main branch, 305 Wick Ave.

Speaker Amanda Hildebrand from All Care Hospice will be teaching creative techniques on the grieving process.

Arms Museum event

There will be a historical, first-person presentation of Regiment of Honor 5th United States Colored Troops and Charlie A. Garlick from 2 to 3:30 p.m. July 10 at the Arms Museum, 648 Wick Ave.
