Communities and businesses can help by becoming members and purchasing a sponsorship banner

With daily direct flights from Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport (YNG) to Chicago O’Hare International Airport beginning Friday, YNGAir Partners is asking for help from the community and businesses around the region.
They can help by becoming a member of the nonprofit organization that supports the YNG airport or by sponsoring a banner to hang on the light poles at the airport entrance and parking lot.
YNGAir Partners members promote regionalization by making the airport a vital economic development engine for the surrounding communities who support YNG, its organizers say.
Membership dues are $25, which is tax deductible and provides the member a voice at the board table and information into the inner workings of a successful airport, said Bill Ohlin, vice president of YNGAir Partners, organized in 2011.
“Community support for the airport and the new airline are key to the success of our airport and our region,” he said.
One way to support is by purchasing a sponsorship banner. They are 2 feet by 4 feet, made of high-quality vinyl, and are highly visible to the hundreds of cars traveling to and from the airport every day, according to YNG Air Partners.
The banners showcase a business or organization’s logo, address, phone number, or website information,” said Dennis Gartland, president of YNGAir Partners. They will hang on light poles at the airport.
The airport expects passenger traffic at the end of 2016 to be above 180,000, with estimates above 230,000 by 2018. For information on the banner campaign, or to become a member, call YNGAir Partners at 330-856-1537.
Two flights will fly out of YNG on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays, and one flight will fly Tuesdays, Wednesdays, Saturdays and Sundays.
Daily service has been absent from airport for 14 years.
