Boardman Park, 375 Boardman-Poland Road, will present three concerts this summer.

On Thursday, the 122nd Ohio Army National Guard Band will perform at 7 p.m. at the Maag Theatre.

Since 1944, the Ohio National Guard’s 122nd Army Band has been a staple of the musical tradition of the United States military in Ohio. As one of the finest National Guard bands in the nation, the 122nd utilizes its resources to perform dozens of missions each year across the state.

On Saturday, the Wright Brass Air Force Band of Flight will perform at 7 p.m. at the Maag Theatre. Wright Brass consists of a standard brass quintet with an added percussionist and features many original arrangements that it has developed into a complete entertainment package designed to appeal to diverse audiences.

In celebration of Independence Day, the park presents the U.S. Army Field Band and Soldiers Chorus at 8:15 p.m. July 5 with fireworks to follow about 9:45 p.m.

The Field Band’s members represent some of the finest musical talent in America. More than five decades as the military’s most traveled musicians have earned them the title, “The Musical Ambassadors of the Army.”

The Concert Band and Soldiers’ Chorus presents a program of marches, overtures, popular music, patriotic selections, and instrumental and vocal solos.

The rain location for the July 5 concert only will be at the Boardman High School Performing Arts Center, 7777 Glenwood Ave.

These patriotic concerts are sponsored by Phantom Fireworks, Aqua Ohio Inc., Boardman Subaru and Great Garage Doors.

Food concessions will be available, but those attending must bring lawn chairs or blankets.
