Ohio police look for man who attacked priest in confessional
ROCKY RIVER, Ohio (AP) — Police near Cleveland are looking for a man who they think assaulted a Roman Catholic priest in a confessional.
Diocese leaders in northeastern Ohio are warning priests and churches to be on the lookout for the suspect.
Police in Rocky River released a sketch of the suspect today. They say the attack happened on June 11.
Officers say a man in his late 20s asked to meet with a priest for confession and that the suspect took out a handgun and assaulted the priest.
The priest was injured and treated at a hospital. Police say he’s now recovering at home.
Police say the suspect is a white man with black, shoulder-length hair and has a cross tattoo on his left forearm.
