Commencement scheduled for GED recipients

Youngstown Adult Basic and Literacy Education and the Mahoning County Career and Technical Center’s Adult Education Department are joining together for a graduation ceremony to honor adults who have earned a GED diploma over the past year.

Throughout the 2015-16 school year, at least 70 adults in Mahoning County earned a general educational development diploma by studying at a Youngstown ABLE location in Mahoning County.

The Adult Career Center Recognition Ceremony will take place at 7 p.m. Tuesday at MCCTC, 7300 N. Palmyra Road. The ceremony will be in the Joyce E. Brooks Conference Center.

GED graduates and graduates of MCCTC’s adult education certificate programs will be honored at the ceremony. A cake-and-punch reception will follow.
