The Ohio Department of Natural Resources relocates about 600 Canada geese from Mosquito Creek Lake to refuges at Grand River and Mosquito’s north shore.

Bishop James W. Malone and Auxiliary Bishop Benedict C. Franzetta of the Catholic Diocese of Youngstown concelebrate a Mass at St. Columba Cathedral to mark the wedding anniversaries of 136 couples who have been married from 25 years to 64 years.

1976: Greater use of benefits and rising costs cause Blue Shield Medical Insurance to increase charges for its subscribers by 4.6 percent. Current monthly charges are $2.48 for single contract subscribers and $10.34 for family contracts.
