Canfield wins 10-11 Little League state championship

BOARDMAN — The Canfield 10-11 Little League baseball team slugged 10 hits and scored 13 runs in just three innings at the plate as to defeat Dover in a four-inning mercy rule rout 13-2 and win the state championship Sunday at Fields of Dreams.

But Canfield, the winners of the losers bracket, almost didn’t make it to the championship game as it had to rally for two runs in extra innings to win 7-6 and force the decisive game.
