Sound healing at Zen Garden

BOARDMAN

Calvin and Maria Wagner of Poland, who specialize in sound healing, will present an event they call Multi-Sensory Sound Bath Experience at 7 tonight at Zen Garden Wellness, 7178 West Blvd., Suite B.

The Wagners use a technique called resonance sound therapy, which uses frequencies to restore balance to the body and mind. Participants lie on a mat and receive the low-frequency sound and vibrations of gongs, crystal singing bowls, pyramids, flutes and other instruments. They are asked to bring mats, pillows and blankets.

YSU band presents twirler workshop

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown State University Marching Pride will present a Penguinette & Feature Twirler for a Day workshop on Aug. 20 from 9 a.m. to noon in Beeghly Center. The fee is $25 in advance ($30 day of) and includes a T-shirt, pizza lunch and dance/twirling instruction by the 2016 Penguinettes and this year’s feature twirler.

The event is aimed at students entering grades 5 through 12. Those who attend should wear comfortable clothing and bring a baton, if available. The workshop will culminate with a performance at the Meet the Pride event Aug. 27 at Stambaugh Stadium. Deadline for early registration is Aug. 13. Email Shannon Antenucci at shantastic00@aol.com.
