Police: Ohio woman killed before struck by vehicle

Wednesday, July 20, 2016

COLUMBUS (AP) — Police say a woman initially thought to have died after she was struck by a vehicle was killed before her body was left on a central Ohio road.

Columbus police say they found 46-year-old Bobbie Bonner’s body around 2:30 a.m. Tuesday on a road near an Interstate 70 overpass. Investigators determined the Columbus woman had been struck by at least one vehicle. They say no motorist stopped and no one who called 911 reported seeing a vehicle hit the woman.

Police say an examination of the body later showed that Bonner had wounds consistent with a homicide and that she was already dead when her body was left in the road.

Police Sgt. David Sicilian says authorities are trying to determine how and where she was killed.
