COLUMBUS
Police in Columbus say a man has been charged with murder after he shot two children, one of them fatally.
Authorities say 12-year-old Cheyenne R. Stewart died of a gunshot wound shortly after 5:30 p.m. Sunday and 10-year-old ThiaJuan Green is in critical condition at Nationwide Children’s Hospital with a gunshot wound to his upper body. He’s expected to survive.
Police have charged 59-year-old Milous Keith III with murder and felonious assault. He’s being held in Franklin County Jail. It wasn’t immediately known if he’s represented by a lawyer.
The Columbus Dispatch reports that the suspect is the children’s uncle. It says the shooting happened in a home on the city’s east side where the children were watching television with their grandmother.
