GIRARD

A Youngstown man faces charges of criminal mischief, menacing and driving under suspension after police say he punched out the window of another car Wednesday morning.

Police reported seeing Eddie T. Ware, 38, standing outside a car parked near Shannon and Beaver roads. Police saw Ware hastily make his way back into the car, which was parked in the middle of the road despite a green light.

Officers reported finding glass in the middle of the roadway, along with fresh blood in Ware’s car. A 20-year-old Girard woman told police Ware had left his vehicle, confronted her at her driver’s-side window and punched out the window of her car after she threatened to call police. The woman told police Ware had been following her with his car.

Ware’s girlfriend, a passenger in his car along with a 2-year-old child, told officers Ware began following the 20-year-old woman because that woman had been tailgating them and had almost side-swiped their car, a police report states.

Ware admitted to officers he did punch out the woman’s car window after losing his temper, police reported.

Police said Ware is listed to be under federal probation and refers to his previous convictions, including voluntary manslaughter, domestic violence and felonious assault on a police officer.
