“The Ebony Lifeline Sports Museum: The Valley’s Diverse Athletic Heritage” will open Saturday at the Tyler History Center, 325 W. Federal St., downtown, and run through April 30. The exhibit features images, trophies and equipment that highlight the contributions of the African-American and Latino communities.

Created by the Ebony Lifeline Support Group in 1996 as part of the celebration of Youngstown’s bicentennial, the exhibition emphasizes the importance of sportsmanship and positive role models in creating community pride. It encompasses all local sports, including high-school and adult leagues.

The history center is open Tuesday through Sunday from noon to 4 p.m. For information, go to mahoninghistory.org or call 330-743-2589.
