Allegiant reports increase for fourth quarter, year

VIENNA

Las Vegas-based Allegiant Travel Co. reported net income of $56.7 million in the fourth quarter of 2015 compared with $4.8 million reported in the fourth quarter of 2014.

The net income for the year was $220.4 million compared with $86.7 million reported in 2014.

“I am happy to report that we had another profitable year,” stated Maurice J. Gallagher, Jr., chairman and CEO of Allegiant Travel Co. “The drop in global energy prices was a big contributor to these results, and once again the team executed on our unique model, generating operating margins just short of 30 percent for the year.”

Allegiant is the only commercial airliner in operation at the Youngstown-Warren Regional Airport, where it offers flights to four destinations.

The company’s earnings per share were $3.38 in the fourth quarter of 2015 compared with $0.27. For the year, earnings per share were $12.94 compared with $4.86 reported in 2014.

The company’s operating revenue was $310.9 million in the fourth quarter of 2015 compared with $279 million in 2014.

For the year, revenue was $1,262.2 billion compared with $1,137 billion in 2014.

For the year, the passenger count increased by 16.5 percent from 8,154,357 up to 9,500,611.
