Gordon Lightfoot coming to Packard Music Hall

WARREN — Gordon Lightfoot will come to Packard Music Hall, 1703 Mahoning Ave., on April 15.

Tickets for the 8 p.m. concert start at $36.50 (plus applicable fees) and go on sale Friday at 10 a.m. at ticketmaster.com, all Ticketmaster outlets, by phone at 800-745-3000 and at the Packard box office.

Lightfoot has been making hit songs for 50 years and is best-known for “If You Could Read My Mind,” “Carefree Highway,” “Sundown,” “The Wreck Of The Edmund Fitzgerald” and “Rainy Day People.”

He will perform his hits and some deeper album cuts on the upcoming tour, while weaving in stories and personal anecdotes about his career.

His songs, which helped define the folk-pop sound of the 1960s and 1970s, have been recorded by Bob Dylan, Elvis Presley, Johnny Cash, Hank Williams, Jr., Marty Robbins, Jerry Lee Lewis, Judy Collins, Barbra Streisand, Glen Campbell and Toby Keith.

In June of 2012, Lightfoot was inducted into the Songwriters Hall Of Fame.

The Canadian has also won 17 Juno Awards —Canada’s equivalent to the Grammy Awards.
