TODAY

Boar’s Head Group of St. John’s Episcopal Church, 323 Wick Ave., Youngstown, will serve a chicken dinner from 11:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the church. The meal includes mashed potatoes and gravy, green beans, salad, bread and butter, pie and a beverage. For Lent, lemon butter baked fish and macaroni and cheese will be served with the green beans, salad, bread and butter and pie. The cost is $8. No reservations are necessary. Martin Luther Lutheran Church, 420 Clearmount Drive, Youngstown, will provide a lunch of beef vegetable soup, bread, beverage and dessert at 1 p.m., after Wednesday services. VFW Col. Louis J. Campbell Post 3538, 157 Lowellville Road, Struthers, will serve spaghetti dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. Meals include meatballs, salad, bread and butter, and coffee. The cost is $7 for adults and $3 for children under 8. Carryout orders are $7.50 and will be available only until 6 p.m. Containers will be provided.

FRIDAY

American Legion Post 737, 16465 Milton Ave., Lake Milton, will have a fish fry each Friday from 3 to 7 p.m. through March 25. Basilica and National Shrine of Our Lady of Lebanon, 2759 North Lipkey Road, North Jackson, will serve Lenten fish dinners each Friday of Lent, excluding Good Friday, from 3 to 7 p.m. Meals feature baked or fried fish or 21 shrimp and haluski, homemade soup, coleslaw, bread and butter, dessert and beverage. Canfield Lions Club will have a fish fry from 4:30 to 7:30 p.m. at A La Cart Catering, 429 Lisbon St., Canfield. Meals include a choice of baked or fried fish; french fries, macaroni and cheese, pirogi or haluski; and coleslaw, green beans, roll, dessert and beverage. The cost is $11. Carryout meals will be available.

Christ the Good Shepherd at St. Joseph the Provider Church, 633 Porter Ave., Campbell, will sell potato, prune and kraut pirogi. The cost is $6 a dozen. First Presbyterian Church, 3654 Main St., Mineral Ridge, will host Friday fish dinners from 5 to 7 p.m. during Lent. Meals include fried or baked haddock, green beans, french fries or haluski or macaroni and cheese (options vary by week). Cost is $9 for adults, $4 for children 4 to 12 and free for children under 4.

Girard K. of C. Council 2935 will host Lenten fish dinners at the K of C Hall, 122 S. State St, Girard, from 4 to 7 p.m. through March 11. Cost is $9 for adults, $4.50 for children 4 to 12 and free for children 3 and under. Meals feature baked or fried fish, fries, macaroni and cheese or haluski, coleslaw, bread, coffee and cake. Holy Trinity Church, 250 Bridge St., Struthers, will sell potato, cabbage and lekvar pirogi at a cost of $5.50 a dozen. There is a limit of three dozen cabbage pirogi while supplies last. Orders will be taken from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Thursday and from 8 to 10 a.m. Friday at 330-755-0064. No walk-in orders will be accepted. Pickup will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Friday. Holy Trinity Serbian Orthodox Church, 53 Laird Ave., Youngstown, will serve fish dinners from 3:30 to 7 p.m. at the church hall. The menu will consist of baked or fried Icelandic cod or fried haddock; sides of Spanish rice, haluski, macaroni and cheese, french fries or string beans (choose two); coleslaw or applesauce; bread and butter; and coffee or tea. Holy Trinity Ukrainian Catholic Church Hall, 526 W. Rayen Ave., will take orders each week for freshly made potato and potato with kraut pirogi for $6 per dozen. No containers are necessary. Orders should be placed from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday and from 10:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. Friday at 330-746-9528 and are to be picked up between 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. Friday. Hot lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 4500 Norquest Blvd., Austintown, will offer Lenten fish dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. every Friday through March 18. Menu includes fried or baked haddock or shrimp, coleslaw or applesauce, dessert, bread and butter, beverages and a choice of two sides. There also is a complimentary pasta and pizza table with the purchase of a dinner. Cost is $11 for adults and $6 for children.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, will sell potato and cheese pirogi. To order, call 330-799-0084 from 8:30 a.m. to noon Thursday and from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. Friday. Pickup will be from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Friday. Cost is $6.50 per dozen (no containers necessary). Walk-ins welcome. Use the side entrance.

St. Brendan Parish, 144 N. Schenley Ave., Youngstown, will serve sit-down or takeout fish dinners from 4 to 7 p.m. in Maxwell Hall. There will be a choice of beer batter, fried, baked or cajun-style fish with a choice of haluski, french fries, macaroni and cheese or parsley potatoes; coleslaw or applesauce; and bread and butter, cake and coffee. The cost is $10 for adults and $5 for children 12 and under. Luncheon specials from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. are takeout only and include a sandwich and side for $6 or an entire dinner for $10. St. Maron Parish, 1555 S. Meridian Road, Youngstown, will host fish fries from 3 to 7 p.m. Fridays during Lent through March 18. Cost of $10 will buy fried or baked haddock, fried shrimp or fried clam dinner, with coleslaw, bread and butter and choice of a side from macaroni and cheese, majadra (lentils with rice and caramelized onions), fries or potato pirogi, dessert and coffee or tea. St. Michael Family Life Center, 340 N. Broad St., Canfield, will offer dine-in or carryout fish fry dinners from 4 to 8 p.m. every Friday during Lent except Good Friday. Cost is $12 for adults and $10 senior portions for age 60 and older. Meals include fried or baked haddock or fried shrimp, and the choice of two sides from fries, haluski, green beans and pirogi. St. Patrick Church, 367 N. Main St., Hubbard, will host Lenten fish fry dinners each Friday through March 18 from 4 to 7 p.m. in the church hall. Menu includes baked or fried haddock with a choice of side from pirogi, haluski, macaroni and cheese, fries or ravioli, or Italian haddock with a choice of pasta or ravioli. Each meal will also include a choice of coleslaw or applesauce, bread and butter, drink and dessert. Adult dinners are $9 and meals for children are $7. A fan-tail shrimp dinner with a side will be offered for $7, and pierogi, haluski, macaroni and cheese or ravioli dinners are $6. St. Stanislaus Church, 430 Williamson Ave., Youngstown, sells potato, kraut and cottage cheese pirogi on Fridays. Advance orders will be taken at 330-747-3024 from 8 a.m. to noon Thursday and Friday. Pickup will be from 8:30 a.m. to 1 p.m. The cost is $6.50 per dozen. Pirogi lunches will be served from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Walk-in orders are welcome.

St. Thomas the Apostle Church, 4453 Warren-Sharon Road, Vienna, will offer a Lenten fish dinner from 3:30 to 7 p.m. Friday and March 4, 11 and 18. Takeout meals will be available starting at 3 p.m. The meals will include baked or fried white fish, parsley potatoes, pirogi, coleslaw, applesauce, bread, beverage and dessert. St. Vincent de Paul Parish, 1 Lucymont Drive, New Castle, Pa., will have Lenten fish fries, eat in or takeout, from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. Fridays, except for Good Friday, in the parish hall. A baked or fried fish sandwich with one side is $9, baked or fried fish dinner with two sides is $10, a shrimp basket with two sides is $10, and a child’s dinner with one side is $5. The fish dinners and shrimp basket meals also include Italian bread and an ice cream cup. Side choices are waffle fries, macaroni and cheese, cabbage and noodles, coleslaw and green beans. No beverages are available. Cost is $10 for adults and $6 for children under 10.

SATURDAY

Braceville United Methodist Church, off state Route 82, Braceville, will have a stuffed pork chop dinner from 4 to 6:30 p.m. or until gone. Meals include mashed potatoes, green beans, corn, coleslaw, applesauce, homemade desserts, bread and coffee, tea or punch. Cost is $10 for adults and $4 for children. Takeouts are available.

Calvary Baptist Church, 1463 Shields Road, Youngstown, will host a meal to benefit Neighborhood Ministries from 4 to 7 p.m. Menu includes spaghetti and meatballs, salad, Italian bread, dessert and beverage. Cost is $8 for adults and $3 for children. Takeout is available.

North Lima Mennonite Church, 90 Mennonite Drive, will serve an all-you-can-eat breakfast buffet from 7 to 10 a.m. Items include eggs, pancakes, French toast, sausage, potatoes, homemade pastries, sausage gravy and biscuits, peppers and mushrooms, coffee, orange juice and other beverages. TAKING ORDERS

Simon Road Church of God, 4750 Simon Road, Boardman, is taking orders for an Easter kolachi bake through March 13 at 330-758-5108, 330-757-2470 or 330-758-7447. Nut, prune, apricot and poppy seed varieties are available for $9 each. Quarter pound homemade peanut butter eggs also will be sold for $2.25 each. The kolachi will be baked and available for pickup from 3 to 5 p.m. March 17.

St. Anne Ukrainian Catholic Church, 4310 Kirk Road, Austintown, is taking orders for nut, nut with raisin, poppyseed or apricot kolachi for $12 each. Pickup will be between 5 and 6 p.m. March 12. The church also is taking orders for Easter paska, plain or with raisins, at a cost of $8 each. Pickup is from 5 to 6 p.m. March 19. Youngstown Saxon Culture Group will host a spring sausage sale from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 5 in the pavilion, 710 S. Meridian Road. UPCOMING

Holy Family Parish, 2729 Center Road, Poland, will offer cavatelli dinners from 2:30 to 6 p.m. next Wednesday, or until gone. Menu includes cavatelli with homemade sauce, two meatballs, tossed salad, bread and butter, and dessert for $9. Cavatelli and one meatball only is $5. Pasta fagioli will be sold for $6 a quart and pasta sauce for $5 a quart. Take out only. Place your order, remain in your car and your dinner will be delivered to you.

Orthodox Center, 1025 N. Belle Vista Ave., Youngstown, will have a stuffed cabbage sale and dinner from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. March 13. Cost is $10 for adults and $4 for children for a menu of cabbage rolls, vegetable, potato or haluski and roll and butter. A dozen stuffed cabbage will be sold for $16, and haluski by the quart is $5. St. Patrick Church, 1420 Oak Hill Ave., Youngstown, will host Sauce and Songs. Dinners will be served from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. March 6. The cost for the dinner is $8 for adults and $5 for children 10 and under. Carryouts are available; containers will be provided. Dinners consist of spaghetti, salad, bread, dessert and a beverage. The concert from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. will feature musical trio Seamus, Celtic for James, and they will perform a concert of traditional Irish music.
