YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning County commissioners awarded a $651,755 contract for New Middletown sanitary-sewer rehabilitation to United Survey Inc. of Bedford.

Funded by Ohio Public Works Commission loan and grant money, the project includes injection of a heated plastic lining of the pipe and manhole rehabilitation to prevent rainwater from leaking into, or sewage from leaking out of, the pipe.

In other action Thursday, the commissioners appointed Jodi Kale and Charles Holden to the county board of developmental disabilities for four years, and Anna Howells to the county mental health and recovery board to complete a term that expires June 30, 2019.

They reappointed Angelo Pignatelli and Gennaro Russo to the county planning commission and Steven Gondol and John Jakubec as Western Reserve Transit Authority trustees, all for three years.

Reappointed for four years were David Mosure as a Western Reserve Port Authority trustee and Gary O’Nesti as a DD board member.

All new terms begin Sunday. All the appointees are uncompensated.

The commissioners have no meeting scheduled for next week, but their reorganizational meeting is tentatively set for Jan. 9 in the county courthouse basement.
