He said 45 guns have been seized since Friday afternoon, which is slightly more than a typical weekend.

The volcano erupted three times last week, with one ash cloud reaching 35,000 feet.

5 of 6 inmates recaptured after escaping from jail

NEWPORT, Tenn.

Authorities in Tennessee said they have recaptured five of the six inmates who broke out of jail on Christmas.

The Cocke County Sheriff’s Office said six inmates escaped from the jail early Sunday after removing a toilet from the wall and going through a hole behind it that led to the outside of the facility.

A statement by the sheriff said that prior plumbing repairs had loosened the concrete holding the toilet, and leaking water had rusted the bolts holding it.
