YOUNGSTOWN — Barb Ewing, chief operations officer for the Youngstown Business Incubator, is in Washingto, D.C., today to speak at the White House Manufacturing USA Stakeholder Event.
At the event, Ewing will discuss the positive impact of the presence of America Makes, the National Additive Manufacturing Innovation Institute. Established in 2012, America Makes, located on Boardman Street in downtown Youngstown, is the first additive manufacturing hub created by President Barack Obama’s administration.
When America Makes came to Youngstown, YBI zoomed in on helping software startups.
“Without them we wouldn’t be thinking about additive manufacturing in any way, shape or form,” Ewing said.
