YOUNGSTOWN

The Mahoning County grand jury indicted two men in the September homicide of a man on the North Side.

Jalon Allen, 22, and David Oliver, 24, were each indicted Thursday on aggravated murder charges with firearm specifications for the Sept. 20 slaying of Andre Harrison, 34, who was found fatally shot in his home in the 1500 block of Kensington Avenue.

Warrants for both men were issued Dec. 9 in municipal court. Allen, of East Midlothian Boulevard, turned himself in to police the next day, and Oliver, of Erie Street, was arrested Wednesday by U.S. marshals in Liberty.

Prosecutors in municipal court said they have video of Oliver and Allen on Harrison’s porch, and at some point Oliver pulls a gun. The pair forced their way in.

Harrison was found dead from a shotgun wound to the neck, police said.

Allen and Oliver also are both charged with aggravated robbery, aggravated burglary and tampering with evidence. Oliver was also charged with being a felon with a gun.

Also indicted was Raymond Johnson Jr., 21, of Meadow Lane, Poland, who is charged with aggravated vehicular homicide and operating a vehicle under alcohol impairment in the Aug. 6 death of his passenger, Johnathan L. Watters, 21, of Youngstown.

Watters was killed when the car Johnson was driving went out of control while traveling north on Sheridan Road south of Holbrooke Road in Boardman.

The car went off the right side of the road, over-corrected and went off the left side and overturned. Watters was ejected from the vehicle, the Canfield Post of the Ohio State Highway Patrol said.

The crash occurred at 6:20 a.m. Johnson was taken to St. Elizabeth Youngstown Hospital for minor injuries. The patrol said alcohol and speed were believed to be factors in the crash.
