Dean Martin tribute coming to Powers

YOUNGSTOWN

“Dean Lives: A Tribute to Dean Martin” will come to Powers Auditorium on Jan. 7 for an 8 p.m. show.

Playing the part of Martin will be Drew Anthony. The 90-minute show is a multimedia musical journey, and includes performances of Martin’s hit songs backed by a 12-piece orchestra. Actors playing Marilyn Monroe, Peggy Lee and Jerry Lewis are part of the show.

Tickets are $29, $39 and $49 and go on sale at 10 a.m. Sept. 2 at youngstownsymphony.com; by phone at 330-744-0264; and at the DeYor Performing Arts Center box office, 260 W. Federal St., downtown.

YSU wind ensemble in outdoor concert

YOUNGSTOWN

The Youngstown State University Wind Ensemble, directed by Stephen L. Gage, will give an outdoor concert at 7 p.m. Sept. 7 at Harrison Common Field on Walnut Street (across from the MVR restaurant).

Titled “Sing, Sing, Sing,” the pops concert will have a distinctly American repertoire, including “Let Freedom Ring,” “Star Spangled Banner: A Song for Our Country,” “Summon the Heroes,” “America the Beautiful” and more.

Guests can bring a lawn chair and snacks to the free concert (alcohol is prohibited).The rain location is Room 2326 in Bliss Hall.

Parking is available for a nominal fee in the M-30 Wick Avenue deck, accessible from Walnut Street, or in the surface lot next to Harrison Common.

Bass Hollows music festival

DrewTony Productions and DrGoo will present Bass Hollows all-day music festival Sept. 24 at 51367 Dickson Road. Tickets are $15 and include camping. Proceeds will benefit Purple Cat Music Class. The event starts at 11 a.m. and features acoustic and electronic artists, including Angie DeNicolas, Satoshi D, DJ Kunx and more.
