JCC presents a book review

YOUNGSTOWN

The Jewish Community Center J Cafe , 505 Gypsy Lane, will present a book review with Alyce Gross, Youngstown native and author, at 1:30 p.m. Oct. 6 in the multi-purpose room.

Gross will speak about her latest book, “Widow-Wise,” a series of stories that begins with three nice Jewish girls as freshmen, sharing a dormitory room at Ohio State University in 1956. They sit together and share the stories of their lives 53 years later. The author poses thoughts and observations about men and women with insight into today’s world.

The price includes lecture and lunch. The cost is $8 for members and $10 for nonmembers; $12 after Sept. 30.

Book signing set at opera house

CORTLAND

Joe Pasquarella, a native of Youngstown and resident of Cortland, has as book signing scheduled at 7:30 p.m. Sept. 8 at Cortland Opera House, 152 Park Ave.

He will be signing his second book, “Images of Miss Lindfors: An Ashtabula Love Story.” Thrust into a remarkable situation, 34-year-old Danny Dubenion is faced with the daunting task of risking his life to save Miss Eva Lindfors, an old-fashioned girl of his dreams who is just that, a dream.
