WRPA closed session ends with no decision

Friday, August 26, 2016

VIENNA — The Western Reserve Port Authority board today did not make any decisions with regard to the Great Lakes JetExpress.

John Moliterno, executive director of the port authority, which oversees the airport, said this meeting was a chance for the voluntary board members to meet together and learn about what has happened with the Great Lakes JetExpress service.

The special board meeting was called "to confer with counsel regarding imminent litigation."

The board members were in executive session for two hours this morning.

Moliterno said at this point no legal action has been taken against Aerodynamics Inc., the operating carrier of the service, and Aerodynamics has not brought legal action upon the WRPA.

The board voted Aug. 17 to halt its funding to the start-up service.

On Wednesday, ADI abruptly canceled service after an evening flight from Chicago to Youngstown landed.
