Ponies from Ponytails Petting Zoo galloped their way to the Boardman library on July 27.

Children of all ages had the opportunity to ride ponies outside of the Boardman library while participating in other activities and crafts. The morning was clear and sunny, allowing the children to spend the morning outside with their friends and families.

There were three different ponies of various sizes that the children could ride. When the families arrived, they received a numbered ticket and whenever their number was called it was their turn to ride the ponies.

While children waited for their turns to ride the ponies, there were plenty of activities to keep them occupied. There was a bowling station set up in the parking lot, a table full of books about horses and ponies, a craft the children could make and other activities set up around the library yard.

When it was time for the children to ride the pony, they rode twice around the fenced-in area. Each of the ponies were led by one of the employees from Ponytails Petting Zoo while several other employees were there to watch over to ensure the safety of the children and ponies.

The Public Library of Youngstown and Mahoning County offers several programs, inside and outside, to allow children to interact with each other while becoming educated on different subjects.
