YOUNGSTOWN
The Mahoning County commissioners will advertise for bids for the repaving of North Bailey Road in Jackson Township from Mahoning Avenue to the Mahoning-Trumbull County line, which is estimated to cost about $1 million.
That project, which will repave 2.5 miles of roadway, will be federally funded with a 10 percent local share.
That road is important for the area’s business and industry, said Commissioner Carol Rimedio-Righetti.
That section of Bailey Road has an interchange with Interstate 76 and leads to the General Motors Lordstown plant and the Lordstown Ohio Turnpike interchange.
The commissioners also entered into a $7,521 agreement with Record Systems of Boardman for reconfiguration of a county courthouse basement file room for the clerk of courts, and accepted $59,930 in Ohio Department of Public Safety grant funds for the sheriff’s department for traffic and impaired-driving law enforcement.
